Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is an adult healthcare organization that believes education is an integral component of the quality care for people living with diabetes. The Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Diabetes Self-Management Education & Support Service/DSMES, allows persons with diabetes to be a part of a healthcare delivery system that provides high quality, individualized, patient-centered care on an ongoing basis. They are committed to participant assessment and evaluation, devising client-specific treatment plans and follow-up strategies and recommendations, addressing the ongoing needs of the person living with diabetes. They believe in the value of ongoing support for their participants to assist them in their self-management endeavors.

Goal / Mission

The organization goal for the DSMES Service is to help each person living with diabetes attain knowledge and/or skills that may enable and empower them to perform effective self-care, promote wellness and prevent sickness and complications

Results / Accomplishments

The Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Diabetes Self-Management Education & Support Service (DSMES) is nationally accredited by the American Diabetes Association for more than 20 years, serving their diabetes communities' needs.
